How to Read a Gaming Benchmark
An FPS number only becomes useful when you know how it was measured.
Check the GPU
Confirm the exact GPU model and, where relevant, memory variant. Desktop and laptop versions can have different performance characteristics.
Check the CPU
CPU choice matters particularly in CPU-limited games. A benchmark with a very different processor should be treated as a reference rather than an exact prediction.
Check settings
Resolution, preset, ray tracing, upscaling and frame generation can all change the result. Match these details before comparing numbers.
Check the test method
Look for the game version, test scene or repeatable benchmark and the published methodology. Results from different scenes are not automatically interchangeable.
Check what the source actually published
If a source publishes an average but not a 1% low, do not fill the gap with a guess. RigMetric follows the same rule.
