How RigMetric chooses and records benchmark data

Every benchmark is more useful when the test conditions are visible. RigMetric keeps the source and configuration attached to each record.

Preferred sources

RigMetric prioritizes independent, reproducible hardware reviews and repeatable benchmark tests. TechSpot is currently one of the main sources in the database because its reviews document test systems and settings.

Configuration matters

A benchmark record stores the game, GPU, CPU, RAM, resolution, preset, upscaling, ray tracing and frame generation state when available. Desktop and laptop GPUs are not treated as interchangeable.

Average FPS

Average FPS is stored only when the source provides a usable result. Rounded values are explicitly noted when an article describes a result approximately rather than publishing an exact number in text.

1% lows

RigMetric never invents a 1% low. If the source does not publish one, the database records it as unavailable and the result page says “Not published.”

Exact vs reference

An exact match means the game, GPU, CPU and resolution match a stored record. If only the GPU/game/resolution match, RigMetric labels the result as a reference benchmark because CPU performance can materially change FPS.

Corrections

Found a problem? Send the game, GPU, CPU, RAM, resolution, settings and source to our Contact Us page. Corrections are reviewed before benchmark-backed records are changed.
